Volume 02 — A História
A Nossa Ilha · A Nossa Marca
Madeira,
properly translated.
An Atlantic apparel brand from São Vicente, on the north coast of a volcanic island.
32.80° N · 17.04° W
Chapter I
Origin
São Vicente. Where the brand begins.
São Vicente sits on the rugged north of Madeira, where the Atlantic meets black basalt cliffs and fog rolls down the laurel forest into the village. It is quiet, wind-shaped, and stubbornly itself.
We started Madeira Originals because the island kept being sold short. Souvenir shops translate Madeira into magnets and roosters.
We wanted to translate it into clothing you'd actually wear in London or Lisbon, and still recognise as unmistakably from here. That idea hasn't moved since day one.

Chapter II
Philosophy
What we hold ourselves to.
- 01Authenticity
- References that mean something here — the language, the geography, the weather. Nothing borrowed from a postcard.
- 02Locality
- Designed, printed and finished in our own studio in São Vicente. No outsourced print farms, no third-party fulfilment.
- 03Wearable Design
- Island-rooted, globally cut. If it only makes sense on holiday, we don't make it.
- 04Premium Quality
- Ring-spun cotton and finishes that soften with wear instead of falling apart.
- 050% Tourist Trap
- No magnets. No rooster prints. No lazy graphics. The island deserves better and so do you.

Chapter III
Field Notes
Fog, basalt,
and Atlantic salt.
The weather here changes every hour. ER101 winds along cliffs above villages built into the rock, the laurel forest holds the moisture in, and salt sticks to everything facing the sea.
We don't treat any of that as metaphor. It's the actual reference material: the textures, the palette, the weight of the fabric.
